So what should you do to improve compliance in your cat’s usage of its cat litter boxes or trays?
1. Clean the box or tray at least twice a day.
2. Most especially for cats more than 2 months of age, you must use a cat litter material that is clumping in nature. When using cat litter, also make it a point to keep the litter deep.
3. Opt for unscented litter since the cat’s sense of smell is too powerful that it may become easily disgusted with such strong scents.
4. Try using a larger litter box as it has a greater chance of capturing all the feces and urine.
5. Place the cat trays and boxes at strategic areas inside your home that is free from unwanted noise.
6. You can add a litter mat as an extra accessory to ensure comfort for your pet when it drops by for elimination.
7. If all tips do not regain the attention of your pet to its tray or box then seek professional help from your trusted veterinarian.
